Elementary Art

In elementary art, kindergarten-5th grade students focus on learning and building their foundational visual art abilities. Our curriculum follows the elements of art: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space. We also learn about historical and contemporary visual artists from around the world, and use a variety of media. Students practice creating with clay, paints, collage, and more. They are encouraged to experiment, explore, collaborate, and have fun, while learning how to respect the space of the art studio.
