Elementary PE Teacher

This position will be for the 2024/2025 School Year
HOPE Community Academy is an accredited, public co-educational charter school comprised of primary,
intermediate, middle school, and high school levels. The entire school community seeks to provide a
safe and trusting learning environment where each student is valued and challenged to grow
academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

and social standards with a focus on Hmong language and culture.

Primary duties: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

• Plan and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials to facilitate active
  learning. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instructions.
• Prepare the classroom for class activities and implements goals, objectives
  and standards of the school.
• Evaluate student performance through examinations and homework
  assignments to promote student achievement.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff
  members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and
  learning problems; assess student academic and behavioral needs by
  establishing and enforcing school rules and procedures.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to
  discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve
  a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Performs classroom management duties, maintains discipline in accordance
  with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.

Qualifications:

• Current MN teaching license in appropriate subject area
• Preferred teaching experience

Working Environment:

• Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment; school building is a
  multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible
• Position requires extensive interaction with children of all ages
• Duties may occasionally be performed on field trips away from school
• Duties may occasionally be performed in outdoor environments, such as athletic fields or
  playgrounds
• Duties may occasionally be performed in varying weather conditions, such as hot or cold
  weather.
• Possible exposure to loud and noisy locations (e.g. loud classrooms or cafeterias; children
  speaking or laughing loudly).
