Bilingual Hmong Speaking Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator
HOPE Community Academy is an accredited, public co-educational charter school

The Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator recruits’ students and develops
and maintains parent relations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and develops Parent Academy program, including PTO and parent
meetings. - Coordinates the communication system between school, parents and community,
including written and/or verbal translation of Hmong and English. - Assumes primary responsibility for the recruitment of students in elementary and
middle school grades. Performs student recruitment activities, including attending
community fairs and events with the staff as well as with parents. - Coordinates the orientation process for students and parents.
- Analyzes and develops a student recruitment plan including developing and
producing promotional items. - Coordinates event planning.
- Develops promotional and informational publications.
- Performs other duties of a comparable level or type.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education or training necessary
to perform the essential functions of the work. - General knowledge of parent/child relationship
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with parents, school staff and community
- Verbal and written communications in English and Hmong.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while prioritizing projects and
assignments. - Working with school-age children
- Considerable ability to work cooperatively with parents, teachers, administrators,
and support staff - Considerable ability to work in a team setting.
- Some skill in using MS-Office applications, such as Word or Excel, or other similar
computer software applications. - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; some traveling
may be necessary. - Ability to be motivated, independent and work as a self-starter.
Preferred Qualification
- A bachelor degree in education, human services, or social science is preferred.
- Experience in parent and community involvement in a multicultural setting.
Professional Accountabilities
- Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs,
curriculum development meetings and other professional activities. - Participates in various school events, staff meetings and extracurricular activities.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate
administrator. - Serve as a role model for promoting effective instruction and professionalism
Working Environment/Physical Demands
- Duties are normally performed under normal office conditions; school building is a
multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible - Position requires moderate interaction with children of all ages
- This work is generally done in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light
traffic). - The typical noise level is considered to be moderate.
